User reviews Norton Internet Security 2007
Jack O. "I recently purchased NIS 2007 after I had to reinstall the
operating system on both of my computers due to spy ware. I was running Trends PC-Cillin
Internet Security 2007, and was pretty happy with it, except all the annoying prompts and
update dialog boxes that popped up constantly. I thought it was doing a good job until I
couldn't open programs and ad-ware/ Spy-ware pop-ups took over my internet browsing. I
couldn't even log on to windows without getting bombarded. I read other reviews and don't
have a clue what other people are talking about, they say that NIS 2007 crashed their
computer, slowed it down, and had poor protection. This couldn't be farther from the
truth. Norton loads faster than my Trend product did and internet browsing is also faster.
You have the option to download anti spam, which is nice because a lot of people don't
need it. The parental control is also an add on which I also like because I have no use
for it, so I don't have to install it like in other programs. If you don't want spy-ware
on your computer then avoid conspicuous sites like hack, and other potentially illegal
sites. Norton is more than adequate in protecting the every day user or computer
manufactured wouldn't include Norton products when the sell you a computer, its not like
this software is the cheapest. It is sold in a 3 user set, which is perfect for me, but a
single user is also available (other reviews said it isn't, but go to staples, I bought
mine there and a single user was sitting right next to the 3 user). Overall NIS 2007 is a
big improvement over 2006 and previous versions, that's probably why the staples guy
referred it to me over Mcafee and others (Mcafee was also almost $20 more expensive). If
Norton keeps up the good work I will be a new loyal customer "
J.P. - " Norton's has changed the layout
of the setup menu. Seems to run quicker. Allows full scan to run in the background using
less memory. Nortons Internet Security is a stable and good product and comes from an
established company. Many manufactures may have a better product at a given point in time,
but NIS will always be a good stable software package. "
